Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Andean, Pacific. Elevation range: 0–1500 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Nariño, Putumayo, Risaralda, Valle del Cauca.
