Perennial. Rhizomes elongated; leptomorph. Culms erect; 150-250 cm long; woody. Culm-internodes terete. Lateral branches suffrutescent. Branch complement one. Leaf-sheath auricles falcate. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blades lanceolate.
