Small tree with thin trunk, tending to gain support from other trees (Drummond & Hemsley 2596); tree to 25–30 m., with rounded crown (Grote 3803, Greenway 4676); branchlets glabrous.

Leaves:stipules not seen, apparently very quickly caducous; petiole 2.5–6 mm. long, glabrous; lamina oblong-elliptic or elliptic, 3.3–15(–18) cm. long, 1.3–5.5(–8) cm. wide, obtusely pointed to acute or acuminate at apex, rounded to rounded-cuneate at base, glabrous.
