Morphology General Habit
Perennial herb; main roots often swollen; stems spreading or erect and up to 35 cm. tall, occasionally rooting at the nodes near the base.

Stipules pubescent, up to 2 cm. long; leaflets up to 4 cm. long and 15 mm. wide but usually much less, the upper ones usually elliptic, the lower cuneate or cuneate-obovate, apex acute, rounded, truncate or, rarely, emarginate.
