Tree 6–24 m. tall; bark grey or brownish, fairly smooth to conspicuously fissured; slash whitish, with blood-red resinous exudate.

Leaves 10–30 cm. long; stipules oblong, bluntly pointed, ± 3 mm. long, evanescent; lateral leaflets 2–6 on either side, ovate, oblong-ovate or oblong-elliptic, 4.5–11 cm. long, (2–)2.5–6.5 cm. wide, narrowed to a short acuminate tip, rounded to slightly cordate at base, glabrous to puberulous above, subglabrous to tomentose and generally minutely glandular beneath, with ± 6–14 inconspicuous spreading primary lateral nerves on either side and fine reticulate venation prominulous at least above.
