Tall tree 20–50 m. high, buttressed at base; bark grey to brown, splitting into squares or rectangles.

Leaves finely golden-puberulous when young; petiole and rhachis of mature leaves 25–45 cm. long; leaflets 12–19 pairs, narrowly oblong to lanceolate-oblong, (2.5–)3–8 cm. long, (1–)1.5–2.5 cm. wide, rounded to subcordate at base, obtusely pointed, rarely subacute at apex (apex itself sometimes slightly emarginate), sparsely and very inconspicuously appressed-puberulous beneath and often also above.
