Morphology General Habit
Annual or short-lived perennial, with a short stem, soon developing numerous slender radiating procumbent to prostrate branches from the top of an undivided taproot; branches up to 10–30 cm long, densely strigose-pubescent with silvery appressed slightly biramous hairs.
Morphology Leaves
Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets 4–20 × 1.5–8 mm, oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic-oblanceolate, ± bluntly pointed, densely strigose-pubescent on both surfaces; petiole mostly shorter than the leaflets, but long on initial stem and luxuriant growth; stipules single at a node, 2–8 mm long, narrowly and obliquely linear-elliptic.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Flowers
Flowers 1(2), leaf-opposed at the nodes, with a short peduncle when paired; bracts 2–3 mm long, linear, slightly exceeding the pedicel; bracteoles absent.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Flowers Calyx
Calyx 5–6 mm long, densely strigose-pubescent; upper and lateral lobes joined at ± the same level, c. 3 mm long, triangular-subulate.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Flowers Corolla
Standard yellow, shorter than the keel and scarcely exceeding the calyx, trullate above a well developed basally dilated claw, medially pubescent outside; wings a little shorter than the keel; keel c. 6 mm long, narrow, with a short upwardly directed purplish beak, glabrous.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Fruits
Pods c. 5 × 2 mm, almost oblong, slightly widened medially, somewhat turgid, with a distinct rib along the upper suture, finely pubescent, c. 6-seeded.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Seeds
Seeds 1 mm long, oblique-cordiform, minutely roughened, brown.
