Morphology General Habit
Flat-topped evergreen tree 10–50 m. high, branching rather low down, and with extensive thin buttresses near base; bark smooth but flaking, reddish-grey or light brown; young branchlets puberulous or shortly pubescent, or sometimes glabrous.

Leaves:stipules ± persistent, linear, 3–6(–10) mm. long, 0.3–0.5(–0.75) mm. wide; petiole 2–4(–5) mm. long, puberulous; rhachis 0.5–3.5 cm. long, widely channelled or almost winged above; leaflets 4(–6), sessile, obliquely lanceolate, elliptic-lanceolate, ovate-elliptic, or ovate, 1–10 cm. long, 0.5–3(–4) cm. wide, at least the larger terminal pair gradually tapering to an obtuse to subacute point, not emarginate, glabrous or nearly so.
