Annual, with a short erect stem, up to 2·5 dm. tall, and long mostly procumbent lower branches.

Leaves shortly petiolate, 1-foliolate; leaflets ovate, up to 15–38 mm. long, 12–20 mm. wide, with those of the leading shoot relatively narrower, ovate-lanceolate, up to 65 mm. long and 28 mm. wide, subacute to rounded and minutely apiculate, cuneate to rounded at the base, glabrous above, thinly appressed pilose beneath; petiole 3–8 mm. long.
