Virgate perennial herb or subshrub with a number of ascending stems to 60 cm tall, branched above, appressed pubescent to tomentellous.

Leaves shortly petiolate, 3-foliolate; leaflets mostly 8–25 × 3–10 mm, narrowly oblong-elliptic to elliptic or oblanceolate to obovate, appressed pubescent to sericeous at least beneath; stipules narrow, variously developed.

Racemes mostly well developed, with a number of flowers laxly to rather closely arranged towards the top; bracts 2–6 mm long, linear to linear-lanceolate; bracteoles on upper part of the pedicel, small, filiform.
