Tree 4–10 m. high; bark light grey or greyish-brown.

Leaves:petiole with rhachis 9–21 cm. long; leaflets 11–19, ovate-oblong to elliptic-oblong, 2–3.5 cm. long, 1.2–2.3 cm. wide, rounded to emarginate at apex, usually cordate but occasionally rounded or truncate at base, glabrous to pubescent above, ± pubescent beneath with crisped non-appressed hairs (which are sometimes almost confined to midrib).

Racemes usually densely clustered several together, occasionally single, near ends of woody leafless branches of the previous season, sometimes on short lateral spurs, 0.7–2(–3.5) cm. long; pedicels (and outside of receptacle and calyx) glabrous to densely pubescent, 4–6(–8) mm. long.
