Morphology General Habit
Sprawling shrub, the young branches white-ciliate and with few or no prickles, soon becoming glabrous; leaves golden-tomentose throughout, 20–25 cm long; pinnae about 6 pairs; leaflets about 15 per pinna, oblong-elliptic, 2–2.7 cm long, blunt and mucronate, each subtended on the rhachilla by a recurved thorn

Pods dark brown, broadly oblong, 5.5–8 cm long, spineless or nearly so; seeds usually 2, grey or greenish-grey, subglobose, ca. 2 cm long.
Distribution
Grand Cayman. Endemic.
Ecology
This species used to occur in extensive thickets just north of George Town, where in recent years it appears to have been exterminated by growth of the town and the construction of hotels. The validity of this species, based chiefly on the absence of prickles, is now considered doubtful.
