Morphology General Habit
Herb or subshrub 0.5–1.8 m tall; stems clustered, angular, with prominent nodes, densely grey pubescent when young, older parts glabrous; short lateral branches sometimes present.

Leaflet 1, 2.5–7.5 × 1.4–4.3 cm, elliptic-ovate, obtuse at the apex, cordate at the base, grey pubescent on both surfaces, velvety when very young, eventually glabrescent; venation raised and very reticulate beneath, strongly contrasting with ± plane venation above; petiole and petiolule together 4–7 mm long; stipules 3–5 × 0.8 mm, lanceolate, glabrous inside.
